Summer Bucket List Printable
Yikes, this summer is half over and I have so much more I want to do. I saw this really cute Summer Bucket List printable over at Pen and Paper Flowers Blog. If you are like me, you'll need to get busy on your list right now!
This is what is on my list:
Go On a cruise
See The play "Children of Eden" being performed at our local theatre
Eat Fresh corn on the cob
Make These cute little garden gnomes for our (my grandkids)fairy garden
Do Take photos of the flowers in our city's botanical gardens
What I love about this list is its size. I can easily fit all of these 5 into the rest of my summer. I am heading to a Farmer's Market to find that sweet corn now!
What's tops on your Summer Bucket List?

A Heck of a Ride!
Cody checking the plane before take-off.
This past weekend Jerry and I were in Colorado visitng my daughter and son-in-law. He flew us down in his plane to Swink, which is the town he grew up in. We had a very nice lunch with Cody's mom and stepdad. Then his brother Rob took us for quite a ride--in a Haglund.
The Haglund before we took it into the river.
I had never seen one before, much less ridden in one. Swink had gotten 3 inches of rain in an hour the night before so the river was overflowing it's banks. I rode in the front car along with rob,Jerry and my daughter.
This part of the ride seemed safe enough...
After our crazy ride, Rob took his children and his girlfriend's children for a ride. (They were much braver than I was!) We had people driving by on the bridge come down to the river bank to watch. Lots of phones were taking pics!
I was wondering if I should have been saying my prayers right about now.
Rob seemed to plunge that thing right into the water and then up the bank we came. I was told that it wouldn't tip and that it could float. I was really glad I didn't have to find that out for real!
Some of the kids rode in front while I watched from shore.
It was a fun ride in a sort of scary way but I don't think I would need to do it again! (Unlike the kids who clamoured for another ride!)
Thanks, Rob for taking us on this adventure!

Happiness is Contagious
I had the privilege of watching my 4 grandchildren today. We had so much fun! It's great to experience all the little joys through their eyes. Listening to my grandson giggle puts me in an awesome mood. I wish I could bottle that up and pull it out when I need a little lift.
Research from the Harvard Medical School has determined that happiness is indeed contagious. Your good mood can spread to your friends and then to their friends, etc. etc. Think about the times when a stranger has smiled at you and you've smiled back.
What are you happiest about right now?
Here's my top 5: (no particular order)
1. Summer is here and I can sleep with the windows open.
2. We can eat on our patio and porch.
3. I have time to take care of my grandchildren every Wednesday morning during the summer.
4. My son and daughter are coming home (from out of state) to visit.
5. Fresh fruit and veggies in season. Can't wait for fresh strawberry pie!
6. Lilies blooming in my gardens.
Do you have a "happiness" list to share with us? How are you spreading happiness? Who has spread it to you?
